At the presentation of its second quarter results in 2018, Skywest confirmed that it had signed an agreement with Delta Airlines to operate the 20 CRJ-900s it ordered from Bombardier last June. The delivery of the aircraft will begin at the end of 2018 and will last until the end of 2020 and the agreement is good for 9 years.

Skywest management has also confirmed the new trend of major airlines that prefer to purchase regional aircraft themselves and then subcontract their operations to regional carriers. That’s why Skywest does not plan to put a new aircraft order in the near future.
